Although the crew at Excel Boats did a great on the design of this boat, making it run great with a 150Hp Outboard motor on it, the extra performance of the 200HP Yamaha makes it work better while still sipping fuel. This one is rigged with a Minnkota 80# thrust 24-volt Terrova I-Pilot trolling motor on the bow. In the dash is a Humminbird Helix 7 GPS and fishfinder. This Excel 220 Bay Pro has Teleflex Seastar Hydraulic Steering, along with a 3 bank onboard charger, to charge all the batteries in the boat and interstate trolling motor and cranking batteries. Diamond City Trailers did a great job on this Tandem Axle Aluminum Trailer specifically built for the Excel 220 Bay Pro.

The 150 ProXS Mercury outboard has a great holeshot and puts the boat on plane quickly and easily. The motor is just coasting along at cruising speed, not in a bind at all, and fuel economy is great. Mercury Returns to Legendary Test Lake
Mercury Marine’s Lake X facility was originally intended to be the most secluded marine testing facility in the world, covering 12,000 acres of land and 1,440 acres of water. Lake X had long been a pillar of Mercury’s heritage and was long used for performance tests of Mercury-powered boats, research and development, new product testing and endurance validation. Lake X was designed and built by Mercury Marine founder Carl Kiekhaefer in 1957. Mercury Marine previously closed Lake X in 2004 when it chose not renew its lease.

Mercury Marine’s Service CSI Program measures the satisfaction of consumers after having service work done on their Mercury outboard or MerCruiser Sterndrive or inboard. Jerry’s Marine won the Service CSI Award for its ongoing commitment to providing exemplary customer service based on the responses of customers who had warranty work performed at the dealership during the past year. A total of 206 Mercury dealers across North America qualified for the Mercury Marine Service CSI Award for 2017. Including 7 dealers from Lousiana and 9 dealers from Texas.
